MISSION STATEMENT: Doggone Fun! Doggy Daycare Center is a specialty pet service designed to provide peace-of-mind to busy families and single dog owners. It gives pet owners a safe and enriching alternative to leaving their dogs home alone while they work. This innovative pet service provides an opportunity for dogs to socialize with other dogs, enjoy supervised play in a large and bright 2200 square foot, indoor, air conditioned play arena and experience a full day of enriching activities. Our educated and experienced animal care specialists will meet your dogs physical, social and psychological needs through an uncompromising commitment to excellence.
OWNER'S PROFILE: Doggone Fun! Doggy Daycare Center is owned and managed by Cinthia Alia-Mitchell. Cinthia received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Puget Sound in 1989. She has been working in the animal care and training business since 1983. Starting her career as a Staff Biologist at the Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington, she then moved to Chicago, Illinois to work as an Animal Care Specialist and Trainer for the Shedd Aquarium. In 1992 she moved to Newport, Oregon where she held a Senior Mammalogist position with the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Cinthia has developed and managed animal husbandry, training and enrichment progams for marine mammals, birds and land mammals. She is a professional member of the International Marine Animal Trainers Association and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She also acts as an advisor for animal husbandry, training and enrichment for the International Marine Animal Trainers Association and the Shape of Enrichment. Cinthia has also published and presented several papers concerning animal husbandry, training and enrichment methods.
MANAGER'S PROFILE: Zarin is a graduate of Portland State University with a degree in Psychology. She also attended the Arizona Canine Academy to further her education and knowledge of dog care and training. Zarin has been working at Doggone Fun! for over 7 years. Starting as a daycare attendant, she is now our manager and professional groomer. Zarin also volunteers at the Alzhimers Center in Tigard. She enjoys taking her dogs to the center to visit the residents. Working with animals and people is what she loves. What she finds especially rewarding is when she can help humans through her work with animals. |

DOG TRAINER'S PROFILE: Jill Tonkin is a certified dog obedience instructor and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). She owns Best Behavior Dog Services LLC and provides dog training and canine education throughout the grater Clackamas County area, and now at Doggone Fun! Doggy Daycare Center. She also trains staff and volunteers at Clackamas Dog Services. Jill received her education and certification from the internationally recognized Animal Behavior College. This program provided her with a formal education in the sciences of canine learning and behavior as well as on-the-job training in canine obedience. Jill’s education, experience and training philosophy provide her with the skills necessary to help positively and effectively train dogs to be on their best behavior. FACILITY OVERVIEW: Doggone Fun! Doggy Daycare Center offers a 2200 square foot, bright, air conditioned, indoor play arena for your dog to enjoy supervised play with other dogs. The arena floors are covered with a firm rubber matting to ensure your dog's comfort, health and safety. Rest areas are available and equipped with comfortable dog beds for those dogs that need extra rest and solitude. Doggone Fun! Doggy Daycare Center is open Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and is located at 19380 SW Mohave Ct. Tualatin, OR 97062.
